Procedure

Install Watchman on macOS or Linux

Install Facebook Watchman via Homebrew or official release packages (not outdated distro packages), then verify with watchman version.

  1. Install per https://facebook.github.io/watchman/docs/install . Preferred

    Install per https://facebook.github.io/watchman/docs/install . Preferred: brew update && brew install watchman (macOS or Linux Homebrew). Ubuntu/Fedora: download the matching .deb/.rpm from the latest GitHub release (docs warn against old distro packages), install with elevated privileges, fix deps if prompted. Alternatively use the prebuilt linux/macos zip from releases and copy bin/lib into /usr/local as documented.
