Install Podman on Linux or macOS

Install Podman via distro packages or Homebrew, complete any first-run machine setup on macOS, then verify with podman --version.

Install Podman per https://podman.io/docs/installation . Linux: apt/dnf/
Install Podman per https://podman.io/docs/installation . Linux: apt/dnf/pacman install podman (elevated as needed). macOS: brew install podman , then podman machine init && podman machine start for the VM backend.
